LOVE
In the last week of our discussions we talked about love and whether or not it is considered to be an emotion. Everyone I have talked to has said that it is one of the most or the biggest emotion we have as human beings. Love is something that can make you smile, laugh, cry, and feel hearbroken. What other emotion or feeling can make you do all of those things? Love is something that you feel everyday if there is a person who you love. Love doesn't only have to be between people, it can be something that you love. A team in a professional setting, or a college team. People love sports, they love animals they love the outdoors. Love is one of the biggest if not the biggest emotion that we have because it isn't limited to just one thing. Love covers a lot of different things. Most of all love is something that can be shown to a person everyday, and Love is one of the best feelings or emotions we have.

ReplyDeleteThe thing about love being an emotion is that Floyd defines an emotion as a response to a distinct stimulus. Love isn't really like that. I think that love is more likely a state of mind that can be activated (or can activate) certain emotions, but isn't really an emotion itself. Don't forget to refer to your readings.

Then I dont really know what would be a emotion. If love is something that is trigged by something else then nothing would be emotion. Because all emotions are trigged by something or activated by something else. When angry something has to make you feel that way, something set you off and made you feel that way. Not sure what emotion is labled as then.
